WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:

JMEC has been structural consultant to perform Caltrans bridge and tunnel load rating for Contracts 56A0653 and 56A0757. Load Resistance Factor Rating (LRFR) method have been used to determine rating factor for HL-93, legal vehicles, special hauling and emergency vehicles, and permit loads (P5 to P15) per Caltrans Bridge Load Rating Manual and FHWA Reference Guide for Load Rating of Tunnel Structures. Load Rating was evaluated using CSiBridge 3-D analysis models, including the effects of prestressing and soil springs as needed. Modeling features included the use of floating lane to determine the maximum structural responses for any transverse wheel load distribution, including split P15 and HL-93. Work included preparing "Preliminary Load Rating Report, PLRR" and "Load Rating Summary Sheet, LRSS" per Caltrans. The NBI Operating and Inventory Types (Item Codes 63 and 65) and the Operating and Inventory Ratings (Item Codes 64 and 66) were revised, and Permit ratings were revised to include P5 to P15.
